BNM/Richie D Events, The KLE Group (operators of Fiction Lounge and Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records Sports Bar), M7 Events/Olly Mo (host of the popular Soiree: City Lights) staged a three day party series in St. Ann over the Emancipation weekend (July 29 – 31) entitled “Summer Playground Fantasy (SPF) Weekend”, which culminated with an all day beach party entitled “Soiree” on Sunday, July 31. This was the first year that this event was being staged and Canco/Linstead Market Jamaica was invited to be one of the sponsors of Soiree.
Our booth was a harmonious display of our products. Exquisitely decorated by Alison Dexter, it had an all white theme which was fresh, light and breezy, and very apt for the beach party setting. The booth embodied coziness as large ottomans were used for seating our visitors at the booth. Rum barrels and coal pots were used to enhance the décor and drum pans were used for grilling. A centre piece arranged with a variety of vegetables and fruits, including a melon with Linstead Market carved into one side, was displayed on the main serving table.
Linstead Market Jamaica’s banner was prominently displayed in the booth and printed menus and tent cards were used to identify the dishes being offered.
Linstead Market Jamaica surpassed all the other sponsors with its superb and delectable menu. The effervescent and outstanding Chef Ravi Anne, and his team of six assistant chefs from the Jewel Resort catered and served 11 dishes.
All dishes except for the curry sausage were prepared using LMJ products. Of particular interest to our guests were sauces which were offered to further enhance the dishes being served.
While our guests feasted, our Linstead Market Jamaica hostess interacted with our patrons to sensitize them to Linstead Market Jamaica products.
As a result of our splendid décor and menu Linstead Market Jamaica’s booth became the main attraction at the event with over 600 persons consuming the 11 dishes prepared by Chef Ravi and his team. LMJ’s booth was clearly a crowd favourite.
Linstead Market Jamaica made an indelible mark on Soiree and the SPF weekend and I’m sure many patrons will be looking forward to the next staging of this event.
